Arts, recreation and ministerial facilities in Waskatenau

ARENA
Outdoor rink for skating and hockey for all ages. Indoor facility utilized for Equine Centre, including horse and cattle showmanship competitions.

CURLING RINK
Curling facility with lounge, which offers curling leagues for all age groups. The curling Club hosts five bonspiels during the winter months. Meeting rooms available.

BASEBALL DIAMONDS
Two fully developed baseball/softball diamonds complete with shale infields, fences, dugouts, bleachers, batting cage, electronic scoreboard, concession and showers.

PINE CREEK CAMPGROUND
Eight camping stalls complete with firepits, tables, cookhouse, water and power supply.  Extra grass sites available for camping and picnic areas.  Well maintained campground with a $20.00 self-registration fee for overnight visits. 

LIONS PLAYGROUND
Fenced playground with modern equipment located directly across from Waskatenau School.

WASKATENAU CREEK NATURE TRAIL
Paved one mile trail along the Waskatenau creek utilized for walking, biking, jogging, bird watching, cross-country skiing, nature studies and outdoor education.

SKATEBOARD PARK
Fully developed Skateboard Park on asphalt base complete with ramps and equipment for all age groups.

OUTDOOR SKATING RINK
Outdoor Skating Rink utilitized during winder months with lights, hockey nets and flooded by ice zamboni machine.

COMMUNITY CENTRE
Two-story facility actively used for weddings, church suppers, dance competitions, teas, shows, meetings, craft shows, dances and satellite bingo.

SENIOR CITIZENS DROP-IN CENTRE
Recreational Drop-In Centre utilized by senior groups on a daily basis.  Meeting rooms available.

LEGION CABIN
Log Cabin utilized by the Royal Canadian Legion for meetings and cenotaph for ceremonies.

ANNE CHORNEY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Public Library located in the Waskatenau School.  Member of the Northern Lights Library System with inter-library services and internet access to the Public.

FIREHALL
Volunteer Fire Department with 20 members.  The Firehall houses the County owned fire truck and the Village of Waskatenau Emergency Response Vehicle.
